Where Jesus Walked

by on May 5, 2017

The best way to describe our experience today is to exclaim the words of the song, “I walked today where Jesus walked.” Our first sight this morning was the sun rising over the Sea of Galilee where Jesus spent the majority of his ministry.

Our highlights of the day included a stop at the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the sermon on the mount. With birds singing in the background, as a group we read together Matthew 5-7.

In Caesarea Philippi we visited the place where pagan gods including Pan were worshipped and where Jesus used the occasion to ask the disciples , “Who do you say I am? Seeing this location with its rock cliff brought this whole Biblical scenario to life. (see Matt 16:13-20)

In the evening we saw a genuine preserved fishing boat from the time of Jesus. It is likely the same kind that Peter and the others apostles would have used. A boat ride on the windy Sea of Galilee with devotions by Pastor Jim ended our day.

Thus we enjoyed a full day “walking where Jesus walked”
